Print and digital material for behavioral health billing and advocacy: helping underserved demographics isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of insurance, but it genuinely comes into play for behavioral health. Framing copy from that perspective helped me develop our concepts and write our story with conviction.

Layout, photo editing, photo composition, and all copy writing. This piece went out to client businesses and became a signature digital presentation at conferences and pitch meetings.
Ad for black-and-white conference booklet. This piece is an example of my approach to writing advertising concepts for these services: raising awareness that the ultimate beneficiary of tenacious billing advocacy is the patient receiving care.
The most intensely cross-functional collaborations I’ve ever had the pleasure of leading have been interactive, adaptive billing and health assessment forms. Collecting information from providers, LPNs, insurance specialists, billing management, and endless independent research to stay current with legal and legislative changes; not the flashiest of layouts, but the most engaging in terms of process.
The Family Advocacy department idea came about after conversations around our client pain points. I wrote the “Family first” tagline and booklet text to explain our service to patients’ families and their providers. Helping family members navigate care and insurance details eased the burden on provider administrators and enriched our company narrative.
