Even with digital and generative AI technology, properly restoring damaged photos is a time-consuming process. It’s tempting to overwork images to the point of losing their original character. Sometimes a client requests a pristine look. If the client is an archive, however, they’ll want to preserve as much of the original image as possible: a more challenging brief and more fun for the artist.
